So far, this season has been a roller coaster ride for the Flyers: some nights they look like a top-tier team, other nights they appear hopeless. Unfortunately for Carolina, they caught Philadelphia on one of their good nights, and lost 3-1. Martin Biron stopped 40 shots and Mike Knuble had 3 points as Philadelphia improved to 14-8-2, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer. Elsewhere on the ice:

  • Brad Boyes’ goal with 58 seconds left unknotted a 3-3 tie to give the Blues a 4-3 victory over the Sabres. It was Boyes’ 14th goal of the season.
  • Florida beat Washington 2-1 on the strength of Tomas Vokoun’s strong performance in the shootout, which was capped when Stephen Weiss scored in the 11th round to give the Panthers the win.
