Hey, Palin: Mock Polls at Your Own Risk

Sarah Palin took a moment to ridicule polls during her Iowa speech: “They’re for strippers and cross-country skiers,” she said. But “Palin (R-Snarklaska)” is in for a rude awakening, writes Jonathan Capehart in the Washington Post. “If the half-term Alaska governor gets into the race for president,, she’ll discover something that strippers and cross-country skiers know all too well: You’re nothing without strong poles.” And with 74% of Americans hoping she doesn’t run, according to Fox News, Palin’s polls are looking “horrendous.”

Just 10% of Iowa Republicans back the former governor, a Public Policy Polling survey found, while a New Hampshire-based poll found that only 3% of likely GOP voters support her. Worse, 23% of New Hampshire likely Republican voters “would not support (her) under any circumstances.” Wonders Capehart: “If people are questioning whether Obama can hang on to the White House with an approval rating hovering in the low 40s, why on earth would anyone think Palin could beat him with a 59% disapproval rating?”
