Vanity Fair put another feather in Mark Zuckerberg’s cap today, naming him to the top spot in its “New Establishment” list for the second year in a row. What’s the “New Establishment” you ask? Well, in the magazine’s words, it’s “an innovative new breed of buccaneering visionaries, engineering prodigies, and entrepreneurs.” That clear things up? Didn’t think so.
The top of the list is dominated by tech stars, with Google honchos Sergey Brin and Larry Page taking second, Jeff Bezos of Amazon taking third, Jack Dorsey of Twitter at four, and Apple designer Jonathan Ive and newly-minted CEO Tim Cook sharing the five slot. Lady Gaga is the top-ranked woman and the top-ranked entertainer on the list at No. 9. Space exploration was also a major theme this year, with five of the 50 members involved in it.
