In a town-hall kerfuffle caught on tape, Mitt Romney trades heated words with a questioner in discussing a balanced-budget amendment he supports, notes Mediaite. When the questioner suggests that Romney is telling his audience “what (it) wants to hear,” adding that it’s “shameful” to pretend we don’t “benefit” from government programs, Romney interrupts: “Did somebody in this room say that we don’t need any government?”
As the woman continues, he steps in again. “Do you have a question? And let me answer your question.” She proceeds to ask a question, and appears to keep talking, though we can’t hear what she’s saying. Meanwhile, an irritated Romney repeats, “you had your turn, madam. Now let me have mine.” Asks Tommy Christopher at Mediaite: “Why is it that whenever the president’s pulse gets above 80, the media react as though Bill Bixby just mashed his hand with a tire iron, but Republicans get a pass?” (More Mitt Romney stories.)
