The Dougherty gang's life on the lam is over. Troopers in Colorado arrested 20-something siblings Ryan, Dylan, and Lee Grace after a high-speed car chase, reports NBC 9. Police say they shot the sister in the leg after she pointed a gun at them while trying to flee, but her injury is not said to be life-threatening. At least one of her brothers tried to escape on foot but was captured, notes the Denver Post.
Their luck began running out when a Walmart clerk recognized the siblings trying to buy ammunition and called police, according to the NBC report. Later, a deputy spotted the trio getting gas off of Interstate 25. In the pursuit that followed, the Doughertys ran over speed sticks laid by troopers, crashed into a guardrail, and flipped their car. The three had been on the run since last week, when they reportedly fired shots at a Florida trooper who tried to pull them over for speeding. They are suspected of robbing a bank in Georgia shortly afterward. (More Dougherty Gang stories.)
