A not-so-lighthearted footnote to the Alex Trebek burglary case: The woman accused of pilfering stuff from his hotel room faces 25 to life because of California's three-strikes law, reports the San Francisco Chronicle. Lucinda Moyers, 56, has two previous burglary convictions, and prosecutors consider the Trebek charges a violent felony because the Jeopardy! host and his wife were in the room at the time sleeping.
"I'm facing a life sentence," Moyers told the Chronicle in a teary jailhouse interview. "I'm never going to see life again outside if I'm found guilty." She denies the charges. Trebek injured his Achilles tendon chasing her down a hotel hallway, and she was caught by security downstairs. (More Lucinda Moyers stories.)
