Michele Bachmann isn't going to make a big deal about the comment from a Tim Pawlenty aide that her "sex appeal" is helping on the campaign trail. "Well, listen, I’m 55 years old. I’ve given birth to five kids and I’ve raised 23 foster kids, so that sounds like good news to me," she told radio host Scott Hennen, reports the Say Anything blog.
Nicely done, writes Ed Morrissey at Hot Air, who notes that women in politics, especially conservative ones, get judged on their appearance more than men. "One can choose to respond to it with either a sense of victimization or a sense of humor, and the latter is a lot more charming, especially when it’s done with such self-effacing humor as Bachmann handled it yesterday."
