Joe Biden can now call himself a tweeter as well as the vice president. He entered the world of Twitter today, news that pales in comparison to the AP's semi-hilarious telling of it. AP's headline: "Verbose Biden now on Twitter, will have to jam deep thoughts into 140 characters or less." The article continues, "Given his gift for gab—not to mention gaffes—Biden might seem an unlikely candidate to say it in 140 characters or less." But don't worry, the AP assures us: His tweets, like those of most politicians, will be penned by his staff.

Appearing @vp, his very first post: "VP & Dr. B hope you take time to think about our troops & military families this Independence Day, Happy 4th from OVP! @joiningforces" So far, he has racked up 145 followers. (More Joe Biden stories.)
