The Supreme Court will likely declare tomorrow that Musharraf can continue to rule, and the Election Commission can then confirm his electoral victory from October. "I know the president, and he will honor his commitment," says the AG.
The government today continued to release thousands of opposition prisoners, and said many more were to be released, further signaling the easing of emergency rule. Among those released today was Imran Khan, the cricketer-turned-opposition leader, the BBC reports. Khan had begun a hunger strike on Monday to protest his imprisonment.
