Call it Harry Potter and the Spurned Literary Agent of Doom. Christopher Little, the agent who discovered JK Rowling, pulling her first Harry Potter book from the slush pile and turning her into one of the world's most successful authors, is considering suing Rowling over her newest magical venture, the online site Pottermore. It seems that Rowling recently fired Little, hiring Little's former business partner Neil Blair instead, reports the Independent.
"It came out of the blue," said a spokesman for Little. "He was surprised to say the least. He has contracts in place" with both Rowling and Blair. "He is still considering his options," the spokesman added. A representative for Rowling confirmed the split. "This was a painful decision, especially as Ms. Rowling had actively sought a different outcome for some weeks," said the spokesman. "However, it was not taken without good reason and it finally became unavoidable," she added, without conjuring up an details. (More Harry Potter stories.)
