Casey Anthony's father George Anthony says he attempted suicide so he could be with his dead granddaughter Caylee. Struggling to answer through sobbing, Anthony revealed that he still battles suicidal thoughts and mixed beer and pills in an attempt to end his life six weeks after Caylee's remains were discovered, reports ABC News. "My emotional state even through today is very hard to accept that I don't have a granddaughter any more," he testified. "But for that particular day…it just felt like the right time to go and be with Caylee." His suicide note to his wife, Cindy, was presented to the court, notes the Orlando Sentinel.
Anthony also denied sexually abusing his daughter during a heated exchange with defense attorney Jose Baez. "You know that sex with a child under the age of 12 is a life sentence, sir?" pressed Baez. "You of course would never admit you molested your daughter, would you, sir?" Anthony responded, "Sir, I never would do anything like that to my daughter. I would never do anything to harm my daughter in that way." Another notable quote from him: "Definitely something happened to Caylee; she's no longer with us and Casey was the last one I'd seen with her…one and one adds up to two no matter how you try to spin it."
