Someday my prince will come ... and have me tracked down at the airport as I try to flee my upcoming marriage to him. That just might be the thought running through the head of South African Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock—the intended of Monaco's Prince Albert—who was stopped last week at the Nice airport with a one-way ticket home, reports l'Express. A shocked Wittstock, 33, tried to take a powder after the randy prince confessed his earlier wandering ways and admitted to fathering an out-of-wedlock child, say sources.
Wittstock, who has had a relationship with the 53-year-old prince for several years, was stopped by French cops operating on a request from the Monaco palace. Only after strenuous negotiations by a third party did Wittstock reluctantly agree to go through with this weekend's three-day $75 million wedding, according to reports. A lawyer for Prince Albert denied all claims, calling the various stories "madness." These "rumors have the sole aim of harming the image of the sovereign and consequently that of Miss Wittstock, and cause serious damage to this happy event," said a palace statement.
