Blame Desperate Housewives. Women cheat in their relationships about as much as men, but for different reasons, according to a new study. Researchers at Indiana University polled more than 900 participants and found that 23% of men and 19% of women reported being unfaithful. Only 10% to 15% of women said the same in the '90s, reports ABC News. The reasons for women: Unhappiness in their relationships and different sexual beliefs from their partners. The main reason for men: sex.
An increase in women engaging in office romances may be one of the reasons the gap between genders is closing. "[There's] too much time working closely together, in private spaces, taking a break and talking about personal matters," says a psychologist. The Internet could be another negative influence.
