Jihadi Site Issues 40-Name, American-Heavy Hit List

A jihadi website closely linked to al-Qaeda has posted a hit list of 40 prominent people, mostly Americans. Those named include a congressman, a conservative pundit, Pentagon officials, and American businessmen whose company helps produce drones, reports ABC News. The site includes photographs and biographical information, and suggests followers send the targets parcel bombs. The FBI has sent the list to law enforcement authorities.

Officials say the list appears to be a terrorist "wish list," posted in response to American-born al-Qaeda spokesman's Adam Gadahn recent call for Muslims in the US to buy guns and carry out "lone wolf" attacks. Jihadi websites are often full of empty threats, and there has been a surge in such postings since the killing of Osama bin Laden, the FBI says.
