Glenn Beck can't seem to get much traction on his upcoming political rally in Israel. So far, not a single leading GOP presidential candidate has expressed interest in attending the pro-Israel demonstration organized by the ousted Fox mega-mouth. As of now only former Democratic vice presidential contender Joseph Lieberman and long-shot Republican candidate Herman Cain plan to participate, reports the Washington Post. Mitt Romney, Newt Gringrich, Michele Bachmann and Mike Huckabee don't plan to attend, even though an Israeli news publication has announced they'll be there.
“I’ve been approached by clergy both Christian and Jewish, and I spoke to Glenn Beck," said Lieberman. "I’d love to participate. He’s very committed to making it nonpartisan, non-ideological." The rally is dubbed “Restoring Courage” and is slated for late August at Jerusalem’s Western Wall. It's fashioned as a sequel to Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally last year in Washington that drew thousands of people. There's no word yet from Sarah Palin, who may or may not be a presidential contender. She was Beck's featured speaker at his rally last year. (More Israel stories.)
