Palin Emails' Big Reveal: Sarah Writes at 8th-Grade Level

Sarah Palin writes like an eighth grader, and that's actually a compliment. Following Friday's massive release of hundreds of emails she wrote as governor, two writing analysts evaluated 60 randomly chosen messages that were at least one paragraph, and determined that Palin wrote them at a grade level between 8.2 and 8.5, reports AOL Weird News. The score is "typical for a corporate executive," says one of the experts.

"She's very concise," he continues. "She gives clear orders. Her sentences and punctuations are logical. She has much more of a disciplined mind than she's given credit for." And while being careful to note that it's "like comparing apples to oranges," he gives examples of how some other famous writings have stacked up on his language scale: 9.1 for Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, and 8.8 for Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have A Dream" speech. "I'm a centrist Democrat, and would have loved to support my hunch that Ms. Palin is illiterate," says another writing specialist. "However, the emails say something else."
