Apparently, cursing can get you kicked off a plane—as a Brooklyn man found out the hard way yesterday. After a layover in Detroit, Robert Sayegh and the rest of the passengers on Atlantic Southeast Airlines Flight 5136 had been waiting at the gate for 45 minutes. A flight attendant overheard him commenting to his seatmate, "What's taking so (expletive) long to close the overhead compartments?" The plane taxied to the runway, but then returned so police could escort Sayegh off.
The TV producer and children’s book author, 37, says he used the F-word twice and called the resulting situation “ridiculous” and “embarrassing.” He is considering suing the airline, a Delta connection carrier, the Detroit News reports. Police told Sayegh he was removed for being “disruptive,” but no report was filed and the airline says it is investigating the incident. Sayegh, who was on his way home from a cousin’s wedding, says he was hungover but not drunk at the time. He was placed on a later flight. (More airline stories.)
