Glenn Beck fans are going to have to shell out at least $4.95 a month to watch him online after he leaves Fox at the end of this month. Beck plans to introduce a Netflix-style subscription plan for GBTV, his new online TV venture. Beck and his staffers admit that the new business model is a risky one. "I think we might be a little early," he tells the New York Times. "But I’d rather be ahead of the pack than part of it."
So what will Beck fans get for their money? For $4.95 a month, they'll have access to Beck's weekday show, which will be aired at the same time as his old Fox program. For $9.95 they'll have access to all of GBTV, which, Beck stresses, will not be a news channel. "If you’re a fan of Jon Stewart, you’re going to find something on GBTV that you’re going to enjoy," he says. "If you’re a fan of 24, you’re going to find something on GBTV that you’re going to enjoy," he added cryptically. (More GBTV stories.)
