Ratko Mladic can be extradited to the international war crimes tribunal at The Hague to face charges of genocide and crimes against humanity, a Serbian judge ruled today, brushing aside concerns that the former military leader was in poor health. Mladic has three days to appeal the decision, the LA Times reports.
Yesterday, Mladic's lawyers told the court that the 69-year-old was having health problems, and today his son told reporters that his father was "very, very frail" and the right side of his body is numb. But prosecutors argued that was just a ploy to stave off extradition, the AP reports. A spokesman had said the war crimes tribunal would be able to deal with any health problems.
