New security precautions are being implemented as US Navy SEALs involved in Osama bin Laden's killing are expressing fears for their safety and the safety of their loved ones. The team communicated their worries to Defense Secretary Robert Gates at a meeting last week, he revealed. Al-Qaeda has vowed to avenge the death of their leader, and threats against US forces has increased, reports the BBC. "We are looking at what measures can be taken to pump up the security" for the team, Gates told Marines during an appearance at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.

"There has been a consistent and effective effort to protect the identities of those who participated in the raid. I think that has to continue," he added. Security has also been beefed up to protect President Obama's grandmother in Africa, who has also been the target of threats. For more on that story, check here. (More Osama bin Laden stories.)
