The first lawmakers invited to see photos of Osama bin Laden's corpse say the gruesome photos are definite proof that the terrorist is dead. "That was him," Sen. Jim Inhofe, told CNN. "He is gone. He's history." The Republican says he saw 15 photos of bin Laden, including a dozen taken right after death, showing brains hanging out of his eye socket.

Inhofe, who, before the viewing, had advocated for the release of the photos to the public, says three photos taken aboard the ship before bin Laden's burial at sea should still be released. In those photos, he says, bin Laden's body has been cleaned up and is easy to identify. "It's much more reasonable to show the public these photos," he said. Rep. Devin Nunes didn't offer as much detail as Inhofe about the photos he saw. "I'll just say this, he's dead," he said. (More James Inhofe stories.)
