Louisianan Gets LIfe for Marijuana
Pothead Cornell Hood got caught up in Lousiana's repeat offender law.   (?"th?R)

A Louisiana man convicted of marijuana possession for the fourth time has been sentenced to life in prison. A judge threw the book at 35-year-old Cornell Hood, using the state's tough repeat-offender law. Hood had previously admitted to three earlier charges of distributing marijuana and possession with intent to distribute in New Orleans. He received a five-year suspended sentence and five years probation on each charge, according to the Times-Picayune. But he was busted again in his new home in St. Tammany Parish with a dozen bags of marijuana, a scale, and $1,600 in cash. It took the jury a day to convict him. (More marijuana stories.)
