A first-grader suffered head and neck lacerations after venturing too close to a leopard's cage on a field trip to the zoo. His injuries aren't life-threatening, reports the Wichita Eagle. The boy climbed a railing meant to keep out the public and walked up to the cage to get a closer look. The leopard then reached a paw through the bars and attacked before two adults managed to free the child. The 77-pound animal won't be euthanized. "It was a leopard being a leopard," said an official with the Sedgwick County Zoo. (More leopards stories.)
