Not surprisingly, Donald Trump has something to say about President Obama’s jokes at his expense at last night’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner. “I really understood what I was getting into,” Trump said in a phone call to Fox and Friends, but “I didn't know that I'd be virtually the sole focus. I guess when you're leading in the polls that sort of thing tends to happen.” As for host Seth Meyers, who also zinged the Donald, Trump complained, “His delivery frankly was not good. He's a stutterer.”
“You raise to a certain level in the polls and boy does the world come after you,” he continued. “I had no idea it would be to that extent, where you know, it was just joke after joke after joke. It was almost like, is there anyone else they could talk about?” Politico notes that Trump looked quite stony during the roasting, and that some of the people sitting with him tweeted that it was uncomfortable. Even so, Trump told Fox and Friends, “I was certainly in a certain way having a good time listening. I don't think the American people are having a good time with $5 gas.” Click to read Obama's jokes. (More Donald Trump stories.)
