After losing his starting job and leaving the team, Stephon Marbury returned to the Knicks for their road game against the Clippers. Marbury had learned on the plane to Phoenix that he would be backing up second-year veteran Mardy Collins and subsequently stormed back to New York; the Knicks denied any bad blood between Marbury and coach Isiah Thomas.

"I've got so much (stuff) on Isiah and he knows it," said Thomas, according to the New York Daily News. "He thinks he can (get) me. But I'll (get) him first. You have no idea what I know."  With Marbury back in the lineup (off the bench) and scoring 13 points, the Knicks fell to the Clippers, 84-81. (More NBA stories.)
