All passengers escaped without injury after two planes collided on the ground at New York's JFK airport last night. A wing of an Air France Airbus A380—the world's biggest passenger jet—clipped the tail of a commuter Delta Connection plane while taxiing to the runway for takeoff, AP reports. Some 500 passengers were taken off both planes, and the aircraft were towed away for inspection.

CNN's Jim Bittermann, a passenger on the Air France flight, says he felt a slight rumble before the plane came to a halt. Damage was visible on the other plane and on the left wing of the big jet. "You could see the part of the 380's wing hanging down from the horizontal stabilizer of the Delta jet," he said. The FAA has been notified of the incident and police are interviewing the pilots of both jets. Click to see the video. (More JFK Airport stories.)
