Demonstrating endless imagination in running afoul of the law, Boy George has been charged with false imprisonment after a male escort told police the eccentric pop star chained him to the wall of his London flat. Police originally arrested the singer in April, when a 28-year-old Norwegian complained that George, 47, had grabbed and chained him after inviting him home to pose for photos.
The singer, whose real name is George O’Dowd, was released on bail and ordered to appear in court next Thursday. The criminal-justice system is familiar to the Culture Club frontman—last August, a court ordered him to sweep Manhattan streets after he falsely reported a burglary at his apartment there. Police who responded found cocaine instead. (More Boy George stories.)
