The family of the San Francisco Giants fan beaten into a coma outside Dodger Stadium have urged his fellow fans not to seek revenge against LA fans when the teams meet again next week. Bryan Stow, a paramedic and father of two, suffered brain damage in the attack last week and is still in a coma, reports the San Francisco Chronicle. "We would like to use this as a rallying cry to stop unnecessary violence in our greatest pastime and all other sports, not only here but abroad," his cousin told reporters.
Stow's sister thanked the people of Los Angeles for their support. "We know they weren't true Dodger fans," she said of the two suspects in the attack. The LA City Council has voted to offer a $50,000 reward for information leading to the suspects' arrest, bringing the total reward money to $100,000, the Los Angeles Times reports. The Giants have donated $10,000 to Stow's medical fund and will honor him during pregame ceremonies at Friday's home opener and Monday's game against the Dodgers. (More Bryan Stow stories.)
