Meghan McCain doesn't exactly have high hopes for the HBO adaptation of Game Change, the book about the 2008 campaign. "I expect my family and Sarah Palin to be nothing short of crucified," she writes in the Daily Beast. The book itself is unreliable and has a distinct bias, she writes, and now Hollywood will add to it. Ed Harris will play her dad and—in her "personal favorite casting announcement"—Woody Harrelson will play adviser Steve Schmidt.
"Each actor brings their very public liberal bias to a story that has and will more than likely be portrayed from a liberal, elite Hollywood point of view," writes McCain. "I am really cringing waiting for the casting of my mother. Let me guess—an ice princess?" She also notes the book's unflattering portrayal of Elizabeth Edwards. "More than anyone I feel for the Edwards family," she writes. Elizabeth "is dead and John Edwards could face jail time. He has three children that will more than likely be present during the reliving of all of this on HBO." (More HBO stories.)
