Prince William and Kate Middleton are saying no-thank-you to fondue sets and the like: In lieu of wedding gifts, one of the charities the pair would like you to donate to is to save Thai elephants. They're asking that charitable gifts be made to the London Zoological Society, which works in Thailand with the Elephant Conservation Network to ease the conflict between villagers and the endangered Asian elephants, of which there are no more than 3,500 in the country. The AP notes that non-animal lovers have other options: The lovebirds have also selected charities that support military families and earthquake recovery in New Zealand, among other causes.
