A Pennsylvania woman has been jailed for life for her part in a bank robbery that used a pizza deliveryman as a weapon. Prosecutors say Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong was part of a gang that put a pipe bomb around the deliveryman's neck and sent him into a bank to demand cash, CNN reports. The deliveryman—who, according to prosecutors, was a willing member of the gang until he realized the bomb wasn't a fake—was killed when the device exploded afterwards.
The former schoolteacher "was motivated by greed and completely characterized by evil," prosecutors said. Diehl-Armstrong—who is already serving a 30-year sentence for the murder of her boyfriend weeks before the robbery—told the court she was convicted unfairly. "I am not a crazed killer," she said. "The true killers are still out there." One co-conspirator is serving a 45-year sentence and another died of a drug overdose a few days after the robbery, which netted $8,700.
