Dogs Search LaGuardia Plane After Bomb Threat

Officials searched a plane on the tarmac of New York's LaGuardia Airport after a caller told the NYPD he had seen evidence of a bomb threat to American Airlines Flight 382 on the Internet. An aviation official said the plane, which had just landed from Chicago's O'Hare Airport, was taken to a remote area of the tarmac and searched with bomb-sniffing dogs. The airport remains open, AP reports.

"As the plane was taxiing in to the gate, the Port Authority stopped it," said an airline spokesman. The Port Authority reports that 117 passengers and 5 crew were safely removed from the plane. "They're in the process of wrappings things up," said a spokesman. Baggage is being matched up with passengers, who will be free to go. (More bomb threat stories.)
