Robert Gibbs officially checks out as press secretary over the weekend, but he gave his final briefing today, notes the Hill. “It is a tremendous honor and privilege to do this every single day,” said Gibbs. He got a parting gift from President Obama: a framed tie that Obama borrowed just before addressing the Democratic convention in 2004 with a speech that raised his national profile. “Robert started very early with me on this wild ride that I've been on,” said Obama. Jay Carney takes over Gibbs' post on Monday.
