Bikini Barista Owner Guilty of Indecent Exposure

Washington state has seen a racy new trend in the last few years: that of "bikini baristas" who use skimpy attire to sell coffee in this most competitive of markets. Bikini baristas have been charged with prostitution and indecent exposure, but only now has one of the cases made its way through court. The owner of Yakima's DreamGirls was found guilty of indecent exposure by requiring employees to wear bikini tops and short, nearly see-through shorts.

The owner, Cheryl Clark, could face up to 90 days in jail and plans to appeal. One of her employees had been charged with indecent exposure, but was acquitted because photos were not taken of her wearing the skimpy attire. The situation comes with a silver lining for Clark, however: the charges have led to worldwide publicity for DreamGirls. More at the ABA Journal and Yakima Herald-Republic.
