Palins Trying to Trademark Names

Books, TV shows, radio gigs: The Palins are already a brand, so is it any surprise they're looking to trademark the family name? Applications were filed last year by the Palins' lawyer to trademark "Sarah Palin" and "Bristol Palin," reports Politics Daily, but there are a few problems that need to be resolved. First of all, it appears neither application has actually been signed by the woman in question.

Sarah, whose application covers both politics and educational/entertainment purposes, also needs to provide an example of how her name has been used commercially, such as a sign or brochure showing the name being used to sell or advertise services. (She tried to submit her Facebook page and a Fox News story about her joining the network, but those were deemed insufficient.)
