Gabrielle Giffords’ husband knew his wife was getting better when she gave him a massage. It sounds almost too incredible to believe, but he recounts: "She's in the ICU. You know, gone through this traumatic injury. And she spent 10 minutes giving me a neck massage. It's so typical of her that no matter how bad the situation might be for her, she's lookin' out for other people," Capt. Mark Kelly tells Diane Sawyer in his first interview since the Tucson shooting. Still, 'she's got a long, tough road ahead of her. But she's a really, really tough woman."
He tells Sawyer he hasn’t closely followed reports about suspect Jared Lee Loughner, but he’d probably be willing to meet with Loughner’s parents. “It's not the parents’ fault. I'd like to think I'm a person that's somewhat forgiving. And they've got to be hurting in this situation as much as much as anybody.” The interview airs in full tomorrow night on 20/20.
