Crime | DecorMyEyes US Busts 'Explosive' Online Seller Who Bullied Customers Vitaly Borker charged with cyberstalking By Rob Quinn Posted Dec 7, 2010 3:41 AM CST Copied Borker warned dissatisfied customers that he would "come and get them," investigators say. (Shutter Stock) An online merchant who bragged about using customer complaints to rise through Google rankings has been busted on charges including cyberstalking, the making of interstate threats, and wire fraud. Investigators seized firearms and ammunition from Vitaly Borker's home along with boxes of apparently counterfeit eyeglasses, the New York Post reports. Borker is accused of repeatedly threatening customers who sought refunds, telling one customer he knew where she lived and threatening to sexually assault her. Google changed its algorithm after learning that Borker enjoyed high rankings for his site, DecorMyEyes, because of large amounts of negative feedback online. A judge denied his request for bail, stating that Borker is either “verging on psychotic” or has “an explosive personality.” Read These Next Turning Point reveals lineup for its alternative halftime show.
