GOP Must Take Down Palin

Republicans are in trouble. “The most-talked-about figure in the GOP is a reality show star who cannot be elected,” yet the party leadership is tip-toeing around her, complains Joe Scarborough in a Politico op-ed. “Enough. It’s time for the GOP to man up.” Palin has no business running for president, as she’s hinted she might—her resume is so thin “it makes the political biography of Barack Obama look more like Winston Churchill’s.”

Scarborough is particularly outraged by Palin’s recent attacks on Ronald Reagan (a mere actor, the TLC star says) and George H.W. Bush, who she derided as a “blue blood.” Bush was sure a spoiled brat, Scarborough snarks; in fact, while a 20-something Palin was competing in beauty pageants, a 20-something Bush was risking his life as a decorated World War II fighter pilot. “One can only guess what comes next on Palin’s bizarre road show,” Scarborough muses. Maybe next she’ll draw attention to herself “by spitting on John Wayne’s grave or shooting an American bald eagle.” In the meantime, "if the party of Ronald Reagan, Paul Ryan, and Marco Rubio wants to return to the White House anytime soon, it’s time that Republican leaders started standing up and speaking the truth to Palin."
