More stores than ever will be offering online sales Monday even as the distinction between Black Friday and Cyber Monday blurs, reports the Christian Science Monitor. About 41% of retailers plan one-day sales on their websites, up from 33% last year. The CSM recommends this aggregator site to get a handle on what's out there.
The increased participation comes as more and more Black Friday business gets conducted online: Preliminary figures show a 16% increase over last year. Also, retailers such as Wal-Mart are shifting away from Cyber Monday into a Cyber Week format. All in all, stores are expected to bring $32 billion in online sales through the end of the year, up 11% from last year.
