Pace University's director of cultural events was arrested Tuesday after allegedly planning to rendezvous with a Westchester County investigator posing as someone looking to trade photos of underage children. Authorities say that David Watson had "various images of minor children in sexually suggestive poses" on him at the time of his arrest, and that more "media" of "obscene performances by children" were discovered after search warrants on his home, car, and storage locker were executed.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the 62-year-old popped onto the radar after an investigator saw an ad Watson allegedly placed on Craigslist in February looking for a "nubile girl next door" and started an online relationship with Watson that lasted until the planned meeting on Tuesday. Says his lawyer, "Our client has never had online chats or emails of a sexual nature with a minor nor has he ever intended to meet a minor at a motel or anywhere for any unlawful reason."
