You’d think having an unsatisfying sex life would be a problem—but for many women, it’s not. Studies show that anywhere from one-third to almost one-half of women report sex problems, but only 10% are actually worried about those problems. One possible reason is that “women might be having sex for a dozen different reasons, only one of which might be that it feels good and is satisfying,” one expert tells LiveScience.
That means, as one study shows, how a woman feels about sexual problems depends on how she approaches relationships and how intimate she is with her partner. Contrary to what the researchers predicted, they found that women who were secure in their relationships tended to be more concerned about sexual problems, while those who were anxious about their romantic attachment were more easily soothed by other forms of intimacy.
