Gawker takes an exclusive look at a 2006 rape accusation against Griff Harsh, son of California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman, and concludes it was "hushed up." Griff Harsh is accused of going home with a Princeton classmate after a night of partying and having sex with her. She woke the next morning with a black eye and bruises, and didn’t remember anything from the night before—but Harsh told her she needed the morning-after pill, and she subsequently told friends and a dorm adviser she’d been raped.

“She woke up with him on top of her and … she didn't remember having sex, she didn't remember consenting, she didn't remember any of it,” says a friend. The student didn't go to police, only the campus health clinic. Princeton launched an internal investigation, during which Harsh claimed he’d had two previous sexual encounters with the girl. The panel concluded it didn't have enough evidence to discipline Harsh, who graduated in 2009 from the school that previously received a $30 million donation from his mother.
