Hey, no rush or anything, but suits from Cablevision and News Corp's Fox have about 7 hours to hash out a deal or baseball fans in Philly aren't going to be able to watch a playoff game tonight, reports AP. Fox pulled its channels from Cablevision when a contract expired at midnight amid an increasingly nasty fight over subscription fees, reports the Wall Street Journal. (Short version: Fox wants Cablevision to pay more to carry its channels.)
The move also affects New York City, meaning that local residents won't be able to watch the Giants game if no resolution is reached by tomorrow. For non-sports fans, it means no Glee, House or Simpsons. Not surprisingly, each side is blaming the other, notes the New York Times: A News Corp release reads "Cablevision Drops Fox," while Cablevision says the decision to go dark was News Corp's, "not ours."
