A woman who had just been suspended from her job at a Kraft plant in Philadelphia returned and opened fire on her colleagues, killing two of them, police say. The worker—identified by colleagues as Yvonne Hiller—drove through a fence surrounding the baking plant 9 minutes after she had been escorted from the building, entered the factory, and opened fire on workers in the room where she worked as a mixer, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
A third person was shot and critically injured before Hiller was taken into custody by a SWAT team, who freed seven people hiding in a quality control room before isolating the shooter in an office. Police say she fired one shot at them and missed. The plant, which makes Ritz Crackers and Lorna Doone cookies, will be closed until further notice and employees will be offered counseling services, said Kraft officials.
