Google Instant Ignores Naughty Searches
Naughty words won't deliver results on Google Instant.   (Google)

The Google Instant function introduced this week offers search results as fast as you can type—so long as you're not searching for famed NFL linebacker Dick Butkus. The instant search functions switches off when one begins to type certain words, including "penis," "hardcore," "slutty," "naughty" and "Dick Bu...," Fast Company notes (though, oddly, "breast" and "testicles" are approved terms).

Google discussed this feature of Instant at a press conference this week when AdAge reporter Irina Slutsky asked why entering her name appeared to disable the function. The company says it decided that the best way to protect children from inappropriately adult auto-responses to queries was to block certain words. Searchers for porn will simply have to stick with pressing the "Enter" key.
