Stewart Takes On Koran-Torching Preacher

Jon Stewart—along with Sarah Palin and just about everybody else—has joined the outcry against a Florida pastor's plan to mark the anniversary of 9/11 by burning Korans. Stewart mocked Terry Jones, his plan, his mustache, and his statement that "even moderate Muslims" would agree with him, before taking aim at Republican efforts to compare the Koran-burning with the building of a mosque near Ground Zero.

According to some conservative commentators, "a Christian is an extremist by burning the Koran," Stewart observed. "A Muslim is an extremist by reading from it too close to a place that their extremists burned. It almost makes no sense."
